In the Chernihiv region, Russian invaders kidnapped three brothers and shot them. One of the men escaped.
This was due to the fact that the military uniform and medals of their grandfather were found in the family’s house.
It is reported by “Suspilne”.
Nikolai Kulichenko, a resident of the Chernihiv region, said that at the beginning of the occupation, Russian invaders came to their house. During the searches, they found the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of his younger brother and grandfather’s medal. Then the man and his three brothers were blindfolded, thrown into a military vehicle and taken away. They were brought to the territory of the sawmill in the village of Vishnevoe. The brothers were brutally tortured there.
Three days later the men were taken to be shot. They dug a grave, tied their hands, feet and eyes, and shot them in the head.
“I’m here, next to my older brother, and a little further, a smaller one. And they shot him first. They threw him into the pit, and then they shot Dima, but they didn’t throw him into the pit. And then, as they shot at me, they also pushed me with my foot. I fell on top of the elder,” the man recalls.
Two brothers of Nikolai died, and the man managed to escape and get out of the grave. After that, Nikolai passed an enemy checkpoint and came to a neighboring village. There he was helped by a pensioner Valentina Petrovna. Nikolai Kulichenko walked 40 kilometers to his village. After the de-occupation of the Chernihiv region, doctors examined him and found two broken ribs.
The prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings on the fact of the murder of the Nikolai brothers under part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, violation of the laws and customs of war in terms of cruel treatment of hostages, civilians, combined with premeditated murder.
