The President’s Office is waiting for the visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Andriy Sibiga, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, noted that “the dynamics of relations has intensified” between Germany and Ukraine.
He said this in his video message.
Sibiga noted that the president had already had a telephone conversation with German President Steinmeier. After that, Zelensky received in Kyiv the President of the Bundestag and the German Foreign Minister. In addition, on May 11, the head of state spoke with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz .
“This is extremely important. There is a clear understanding of common interests. There are common assessments of the challenges that both Europe and Ukraine face today. We clearly understand the interaction algorithm and we look forward to further visits by German leaders, both the President and the Chancellor to Kyiv,” Sibiga said.
It should be noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba will make foreign visits on May 11-18 to participate in G7 and EU events and hold talks with the leadership of Germany , the Netherlands and Belgium in order to coordinate further military, financial and humanitarian support for Ukraine, as well as progress towards membership in EU.
