In the Nikolaev region, on behalf of the President of Ukraine and the head of the OP, water supply was resumed in residential areas of the city. For this, water intake was provided from the Southern Bug and artesian wells.
As a result of enemy shelling, both the main and reserve lines of the Dnepr-Nikolaev main water pipeline were damaged. Due to the fact that 80% of the total length of the water pipeline is located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region , it is still impossible to repair the water supply and ensure its stable operation.
Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, spoke about this in his video message.
According to him, 56 million hryvnias were allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget to solve the issue of water supply for the population of Nikolaev. In addition, water intake is provided from the Southern Bug River and artesian wells.
“Currently, 14 wells have been put into operation in city hospitals, a maternity hospital and a military hospital. Water supply to residential buildings has begun today,” Tymoshenko said.
The deputy head of the OP said that now in the Nikolaev region 1009 settlements have already been de-occupied, where humanitarian headquarters and the State Emergency Service have deployed.
Recall, in order to consolidate their positions, Russian troops are trying to capture the villages of Bruskinskoye and Bolshaya Aleksandrovka in the Kherson region. This may allow the invaders to advance on the Nikolaev region.
