Poland is looking for employment solutions for Ukrainian refugees.
Polish officials, together with representatives of business and non-governmental organizations, have developed recommendations for the integration and employment of refugees from Ukraine. Among the proposals are a program of financial support for enterprises in creating new jobs, monitoring the demand for labor in various industries, as well as creating a nationwide competency base for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
This is reported in the analytical center of the employment agency ” Gremi Personal “, whose experts also participated in the development of the document.
Thus, the employment agency named a number of problems that both Ukrainians and the Polish authorities faced in the issue of providing jobs for citizens of Ukraine.
It is noted that today the greatest demand from Polish employers for workers in the food industry, logistics and the HoReCa industry is outside large cities. In turn, the majority of Ukrainians in Poland, on the contrary, choose to live in large cities , where it is much more difficult to find a job without knowledge of the language and experience. Therefore, one of the proposals from the local authorities of Poland is the development of a program of financial support for enterprises in creating new jobs, as well as constant monitoring of demand for work in various industries.
“The creation of a nationwide competency base, combined with demand monitoring, would give Ukrainian women the opportunity to live in places where they can work and provide for themselves. Especially in a situation where many of them were not ready for the realities of the Polish labor market and change jobs several times at first, until they find an acceptable one for themselves. This is a negative trend, it can discourage Ukrainian women from working, as well as employers to employ them.Flexible management of the employment of refugees requires more active cooperation between local governments, voivodship and county labor offices, economic zones and employment agencies,” explains Damian Guzman, Deputy CEO of Gremi Personal.
Moreover, the recommendations also include a proposal to create a program of mass and rapid study of the Polish language for Ukrainian citizens who want to work. Since it is her ignorance that is an obstacle to finding a qualified job , as well as integrating into Polish society.
Among other problems that Ukrainian refugees face in Poland are difficulties in finding children , as well as finding housing . In the first 2 months of the war, refugees were accommodated free of charge. Now the question arises of finding paid housing for them – especially those who intend to work.
According to the authorized government for refugees from Ukraine Pavel Shefernaker, 100 thousand able-bodied Ukrainians got a job in Poland, and this is one in four of those who received PESEL (an identification number that gives the right to work in Poland under a special law adopted for refugees).
According to the Polish Border Service, since the beginning of the war, 3.29 citizens of Ukraine have entered the country, and 1.16 million people have returned home.
Recall that on February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine , inflicting a series of missile and air strikes on our cities, including Kiev. The large-scale invasion has been going on for the 79th day (war of 8 years). The invaders continue to destroy Ukrainian villages, towns and cities with cruise missiles and air bombs, killing the civilian population and causing devastating destruction to the infrastructure.
