Britain has imposed sanctions against relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Alina Kabaeva. The current sanctions have also taken their toll on Putin’s financial network.
Official documents list President Putin’s humble possessions, including a small apartment in St. Petersburg, two Soviet-era cars from the 1950s, a trailer, and a small garage.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss announced the new sanctions.
Putin’s official assets are modest, his lifestyle funded by a group of family, friends and the elite, the British Foreign Office said.
“In reality, Putin is reliant on family, childhood friends and a select elite who have benefited from his rule and in turn support his lifestyle. Their reward is influence on the affairs of the Russian state that goes beyond their formal positions.
Earlier it became known that the state of the mistress of the Kremlin dictator is three times more than that of the legendary former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. According to the Mirror , thanks to Kabaeva’s work as a gymnast, politician and media mogul, her fortune is estimated at 7.6 million pounds.
