The Kharkiv metro will start its work on May 24.
The metro in Kharkiv will be launched tomorrow, May 24, at 07:00. The first week of travel in the subway will be free.
This was stated by the mayor of Kharkov Igor Terekhov.
“Tomorrow, three months after the Russian attack on Ukraine, we are launching the metro. At 07:00, for the first time in the last 89 days, the Kharkov subway trains will start moving. I want to say right away that since the economy of Kharkov has just begun to revive, it is difficult to understand the passenger flow. And in the first days of the metro’s operation, trains will run at half an hour intervals,” Terekhov said.
According to him, gradually the interval will be reduced in the city. At the same time, the logistics of land transport is changing in such a way that it is convenient for Kharkiv residents to move around the city.
The mayor of Kharkiv expressed confidence that the launch of the metro would help normalize the life of the city as soon as possible.
