The document will contain decisions that should make the labor market more flexible for refugees from Ukraine, improve the ability of Ukrainians to attend Polish language courses, create pre-school training centers for children from Ukraine, and not only.
The Vice Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland and the Government Commissioner for Refugees from Ukraine Pavel Shefernaker announced new changes to the law on assistance to refugees from Ukraine.
The draft amendments to the law should be submitted in a few days. According to Pavel Shefernaker, the document will contain decisions that should make the labor market more flexible for refugees from Ukraine, improve the ability of Ukrainians to attend Polish language courses, create pre-school training centers for children from Ukraine, and more.

“Today, the most important thing is that we prepare such systemic solutions by July 1 that will allow us to stabilize the situation in the coming months. They are related to childcare, education and the labor market,” said the Government Commissioner for Refugees from Ukraine.
He also added that the changes to the law involve the creation of a common resource of the Polish Border Guard Service and the Social Insurance Department (ZUS). Such a resource will make it possible to ensure that refugees from Ukraine who have left or will leave Poland do not continue to enjoy the benefits and privileges to which they are entitled as refugees.
A separate line of changes provides that self-government bodies in Poland will be able to use empty premises, including for arranging them into a temporary shelter for refugees from Ukraine.
According to Pavel Shefernaker, 1.1 million refugees from Ukraine have already received PESEL numbers in Poland. Among them – about 450 thousand people of working age. At the same time, almost 160 thousand of them have already found legal work. According to preliminary estimates by the Polish government, up to 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine may stay in the country longer.
Recall, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda on Sunday, May 22, was on a visit to Ukraine and personally addressed the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, speaking from the podium of the Verkhovna Rada, Duda said that Russia should pay indemnities to Ukraine because of the war. The President of Poland also promised to do everything possible for Ukraine to become a member of the European Union.
