The border guard from Snake Island, the real author of the legendary phrase “Russian warship, go fuck yourself”, was rescued from enemy captivity.

The State Border Service informs about this.

“This is my subordinate. He was in captivity for a month and a half, and now he is free,” said Bogdan Gotsky, head of the Snake Island border security post.

Gotsky confirmed that only border guards had access to the radio station.

According to him, the Russians, who put forward a demand for the defenders of Zmeiny to surrender, also offered work and a large salary. One of the servicemen lost patience and he indicated the direction of the Russian ship. The character’s name has yet to be revealed.

The speaker of the State Border Guard Service, Andrei Demchenko, in a commentary to UP, explained why the State Border Service did not disclose the identity of the author of this phrase.

“The name of the border guard who uttered these words was not called deliberately, because the disclosure of his face could harm him in captivity. Now, fortunately, he is safe,” he said.

According to Demchenko, “due to certain circumstances” the name of the hero will remain a secret for some time.

Demchenko explained that the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not publicly support this topic, so that it would not threaten the fighters during their captivity.

And the media publicity of the Marine Roman Gribov, to whom the media erroneously attributed the authorship of the phrase, was to a certain extent an informational cover that guaranteed the safety of his brothers in captivity.

The speaker of the State Border Guard Service clarified that the marines did not have a channel for communication with sea vessels, only border guards.

“At the next moment of the threat by the Russian ship, between the attacks of the Russian forces on the island, the border guard, realizing that the situation is complicated, tense, and he was tired of listening to the repeated threats of the aggressor, being at the radio station, openly spoke out to the enemy with a well-known phrase.
