Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, 5 million Ukrainians have passed through Lviv.
Now there are 150 thousand internally displaced persons in the city, three modular towns have been built for people.
This was announced by the mayor of Lvov Andrey Sadovy.
The mayor of Lvov noted that now residents of the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions are returning home from the city, however, migrants from regions where active hostilities continue are arriving in Lvov.
“People from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions continue to arrive by evacuation trains. Three modular towns are operating, more than 1,000 people can live here. Today, 200 institutions are still shelters. Our task is to organize a full-fledged educational process in schools by the end of summer,” Sadovyi said. .
The mayor of Lviv noted that there are more than 1,000 patients from hot spots in the city’s hospitals. Almost every day, trains with the wounded arrive in Lviv. These are people who have received mine-explosive injuries, they are left without arms, legs and often relatives.
“In cooperation with foreign clinics, we send the wounded for treatment abroad. But these resources are also limited. Our people must stay and undergo rehabilitation here in Ukraine. Therefore, we are starting a large project “Indestructible” to build a national rehabilitation center. This work is already underway more than a month. We are looking for partners, asking for high-quality expertise, because today we are faced with the task of creating a center that has no analogues in the world. This is prosthetics, rehabilitation, socialization and psychological support, which thousands of Ukrainians need today,” Sadovyi wrote.
Also in Lviv on June 10, a large conference of partners will be held. With the participation of foundations and embassies that have already agreed to cooperate. This is a major crowdfunding project officially starting on June 10th.
