LG has announced its first bendable OLED TV, the Flex LX3, which flattens or curves up to 900R at will. The 42-inch TV has a height-adjustable stand that swivels and tilts like a monitor and is positioned for gaming.
A dedicated button on the LG OLED Flex LX3 remote control automatically folds and unfolds the screen. In addition to two preset positions, owners can choose from 20 levels in 5% increments. This sets the LG TV apart from another similar device, the Corsair Xeneon Flex OLED monitor , whose owners can only bend the screen by hand.
LG is positioning its 42-inch flexible TV as a gaming display. This is possible thanks to the features that gamers will love. The LX3 is capable of Dolby Vision at 4K 120Hz and has a full featured HDMI 2.1 input . The TV supports variable refresh rate and low latency auto mode, as well as G-Sync from NVIDIA or FreeSync from AMD to synchronize FPS and screen refresh rate.
If there is no desire to play on a huge TV, the usable area can be reduced to diagonals of 32 or 27 inches. You can also use LG’s Multi View mode to view two different video sources at the same time. The device is suitable for gaming sessions while watching videos, streaming or chatting online.
The release date and price of LG OLED Flex LX3 is still unknown. The LG Flex series will be presented at IFA in Germany in the coming days.
