Previous generations of Samsung foldable smartphones and smartwatches will soon be updated to the latest One UI firmware. This will allow owners of these devices to take advantage of new features such as multitasking gestures, optimization for large screen devices, improvements to native applications, and a PC-style taskbar. New watch faces and settings will be available for Galaxy smartwatches.
Samsung One UI 4.1.1 firmware is based on Android 12L OS. She first appeared on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 devices. Samsung has now begun the global rollout of the One UI 4.1.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 models. It has also been confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Fold will also receive the One UI 4.1.1 update. , but a specific release date has yet to be announced.
With the new firmware version, owners of older devices will be able to use the taskbar, which allows you to quickly switch between applications and drag and drop applications to create a split view. A new two-finger gesture is also available for multitasking purposes, allowing you to instantly switch full-screen apps to pop-ups or split the screen in half. The update also brings the ability to change settings, make calls, call back missed calls, and reply to messages (using voice-to-text) from an external screen. The Rear Cam Selfie feature will allow you to create self-portraits using the main camera.
The One UI Watch 4.5 skin version first appeared on the Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch , and is now also available to owners of the previous Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic models. It brings 6 new interactive watch faces, additional settings, and a new QWERTY keyboard. Samsung hasn’t revealed a release date for One UI Watch 4.5.
Additionally, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatches will receive a separate firmware update around the end of September. It will bring “selected features” from One UI Watch 4.5, such as 2 new watch faces, snoring analysis, and support for blood pressure and ECG measurements in the Samsung Health Monitor app.
