Huawei has introduced a new generation of flagship smartphones. The Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro models will be able to send text messages thanks to the Chinese BeiDou satellite network. The function will allow you to communicate in areas where there is no cellular connection.
Satellite communication terminals have existed for a long time, some of them are equipped with Android OS. The novelty of Huawei Mate 50 smartphones is that these are the first mainstream LTE phones that can connect to the network via satellite.
The Mate 50 series is based on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. Huawei Mate 50 Pro is equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, Mate 50 is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Both devices have a 50 MP main camera with variable aperture and aperture from f/1.4 to f/4. The Pro model received a 64 MP telephoto lens with 200x digital zoom. The regular Mate 50 offers 100x digital zoom with a 12 MP sensor.
Also on the back of the smartphones is a 13 MP ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. Previous Huawei flagships were often at the top of the camera rating, you should expect good photo quality from new products.
Last month, Starlink and T-Mobile announced satellite connectivity for smartphones . Elon Musk and Mike Sievert said that existing devices are suitable for connection. Also claimed is satellite communications in Tesla vehicles . Both technologies will be tested in selected areas of the US.
