The company debuted a new generation of Apple Watch Series 8 smartwatches with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. They retained the familiar design and price tags, but acquired a number of innovations. Among them is a body temperature sensor, which is useful, among other things, for tracking ovulation cycles. The watch also has the usual universal set of heart rate, ECG and blood oxygen sensors to monitor the body’s physical indicators, the quality of training and sleep.
Another feature of the Apple Watch Series 8 is the Crash Detection function, which will detect the wearer getting into an accident and notify the rescue services. Autonomy in normal mode remained at the same level (18 hours), but an energy-efficient mode was added that allows the watch to live up to 36 hours from a full charge. The good news is that this mode will be available for older versions starting with Apple Watch Series 4 when moving to watchOS 9.
The aluminum version will be available in black, grey, beige and red, while the stainless steel model will be available in silver, gold and graphite. Belts of various materials and colors, as well as new bright dials, will additionally emphasize the individuality of the owner.
The Apple Watch Series 8 will hit the global shelves on September 16 for $399 for the GPS version and $499 for the GPS+eSIM. Russian price tags are not named due to the fact that the watch will not be officially sold in the Russian Federation.
