Images, and later videos, of the Meta Quest Pro virtual reality headset appeared online. The video (now unavailable) was posted on Facebook by Ramiro Cardenas. According to him, the device was left in the hotel room. The model shown is reminiscent of the Project Cambria headset that Meta has been publicly teasing since late last year. The look of the VR headset also matches up with earlier leaks.
In the video, Cardenas took the device out of its packaging, showing off a black headset and redesigned controller. The headset has three cameras on the front and the controllers feature a new sensor mount.
The packaging has a “Meta Quest Pro” label in the top left corner and a picture of a headset with controllers. Cardenas also provided a close-up of the label attached to the box, which reads “Not for Resale – Engineering Design.”
The images and videos appeared exactly a month before the Meta Connect event on October 11th. Mark Zuckerberg also confirmed the headset’s imminent release recently . Interestingly, the person who left the headset in the room has since taken the headphones, according to Cardenas. Devices “accidentally forgotten” in hotels and restaurants are classics of planned leaks.
