Apple, with one hand depriving smartphones of basic elements in the name of ecology, with the other hand, is trying to push fans to buy new generations of iPhone every fall, although the elimination of annual minor improvements in favor of a two-year iPhone release cycle would reduce e-waste. Moreover, Apple is so uninterested in making older iPhones last longer that it has resorted to raising the cost of replacing batteries for the entire iPhone 14 series. Great Britain.
And this, by the way, is as much as 45-52% more expensive than those $89 (£69) that are asked for battery replacement in any iPhone 13 model. But their capacity, by and large, has not changed (and in the iPhone 14 Pro Max and decreased altogether). Considering that iPhones don’t lose much value in the secondary market over the course of a year, with new battery replacement prices, the buyer will now think three times if it’s not easier to throw a little on top and buy a new generation iPhone. How this will affect the environment so valuable to Apple is a rhetorical question.
