According to Apple’s unofficial update tracker, the iPhone 14 that early adopters receive this week will not ship with the final version of iOS 16. The OS update will, among other things, fix an issue that could cause photos to look blurry when zoomed in landscape mode on iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The new iPhones ship with an earlier version of iOS 16, so you’ll get a day one update to the final release build (20A362), which will show up with the following as release notes: pic.twitter.com/UnryNYzCXw

Previous iPhone users who can’t or don’t want to update to iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 should download the patch Apple released for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 this week. Both patches include fixes for several bugs and security risks. Some of them allow malicious websites to track users, spoof address bars, or execute arbitrary code. One of the exploits could allow an app to bypass privacy settings, another could make photos accessible from the lock screen.
The Day One update comes despite the launch of iOS 16 for iPhone 8 and later. The discrepancy likely happened because the iPhone 14 started shipping to stores before iOS 16 was ready for public release.
Apple’s latest mobile operating system includes new lock screen customization options, the ability to edit or delete messages after they’ve been sent, and many other new features . Apple has also released watchOS 9, but iPadOS 16 won’t arrive until October.
The final version of iOS 16 will be released on the iPhone from September 12, and iPadOS is delayed
