Actor Ryan Reynolds has revealed that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming film Deadpool 3, which will be released in September 2024.
Marvel comic book anti-hero Deadpool first appeared on the big screen in X-Men Origins. Wolverine” in 2009, and then got its own spin-off. In the third part, after the success of the 2016 original and the 2018 sequel, 45-year-old Ryan Reynolds will again play the main role. The actor also revealed that Hugh Jackman will be joining him, which means that Wolverine will also appear in the new film.
The actor shared a video on Twitter in which he announced important news in a joking manner.
“We are very sad that we missed D23, but we have been working on the next Deadpool movie for a very long time. I had to really dig into this character, since this is his first appearance in the MCU, obviously, it should be special. You have to stay true to the character, but find new motivation and meaning.”
Reynolds also added that “every Deadpool needs to stand out,” the new film is an incredible challenge that makes the actor “see deeply into his soul.”
“However, it is completely empty and scary. Although there is one idea. Hey Hugh, would you like to play Wolverine again?” Ryan joked.
53-year-old Hugh Jackman, who at that time showed up behind Reynolds, as if nothing had happened, replied:
“Yes, of course, Ryan.”

The film’s director Shawn Levy also posted about the dynamic duo’s reunion, joking that the news has been “burning a hole” in his mouth for weeks now.
I want to take a minute to thank #StrangerThings for training me to keep my big mouth shut. This news has been burning a hole in my lips for weeks now?⚔️

The last time X-Men fans saw Jackman as Wolverine was in 2016’s Logan, directed by James Mangold. The character died at the end of the film, and Jackman has repeatedly stated that the role is over. So it’s unclear how Wolverine will appear in Deadpool 3, but as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently said, “Anything is possible in the multiverse.”
Meanwhile, Logan director James Mangold, who famously ended the Wolverine story once and for all (or so we thought), is responding to the Deadpool 3 news with a simple GIF…
