According to insider Mukul Sharma, Google has begun production of a cheaper Google Pixel 6a smartphone. Its production has already begun in some Asian countries, and this may be another proof that the announcement of new items is just around the corner.
The American company is expected to show the next smartphone of its flagship Pixel 6 series during the Google I / O conference, which begins tomorrow, May 11th. Early leaks that the Pixel 6a will adopt the simple Pixel 6 design are also confirmed, meaning you can expect the same horizontal camera strip and center front notch. The smartphone will have a 6.2” display. It should become more compact than its progenitor. Also, most likely, the smartphone will retain the 12.2-megapixel main camera, like its predecessor, and the device will work on the proprietary Tensor chip, like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
In terms of smartphone affordability, Google is gearing up to expand into a much larger number of markets this year compared to where it currently sells devices – the US and Japan. The issue of price is still acute, but it will most likely not exceed $450-500.
