Update: Rutube is up and running again after the biggest cyberattack in its history .
The hacker group Anonymous, which, after the start of a special military operation, declared cyber war on the Russian government, announced another major hack.
Anonymous claims that it is they who are behind the hacking of the domestic video service Rutube, which, we recall, has not been working for the third day and is unlikely to work in the coming days. What’s more, Anonymous claims that “Rutube is probably gone for good,” contrary to the claims of the service’s representatives.
Anonymous hacked the Russian video platform Rutube. Almost 75% of the databases and infrastructure of the main version and 90% of the backup and database recovery cluster were seriously affected, which means that Rutube is probably gone forever.

Previously, there was information that the restoration of Rutube after a hacker attack could take more than a week. At the same time , the company’s management was warned in advance about vulnerabilities in the service infrastructure . Losses due to restoration costs and loss of advertising revenue can range from 500 million to 1 billion rubles.
To eliminate the consequences of the cyber attack that Rutube faced on May 9, the service attracted several expert teams , in particular, a team of specialists from the Positive Technologies Security Expert Center (PT Expert Security Center).
Prior to that, RuTube stated that the information regarding the loss of the source code of the site is not true .
Rutube CEO Alexander Moiseev said that the domestic video service team restored the functionality of the platform after a powerful cyber attack, and also added that they plan to launch the service today .
Anonymous also announced the hacking of the Port and Railway Projects Service of UMMC OJSC, which manages two of Russia’s largest ports specializing in the shipment of coal. 77,500 106 GB emails were published on DDoSecrets.
