VKontakte will launch a marketplace for NFT tokens. Platform users will be able to create and sell unique content

VKontakte is creating a marketplace for NFT tokens, within which users, for example, will be able to create and sell their own unique stickers, as well as other user-generated content in the form of NFTs. This was announced on the sidelines of the HighLoad ++ Foundation conference by the technical director of VKontakte Alexander Tobol.

VKontakte will launch a marketplace for NFT tokens. Platform users will be able to create and sell unique content

“In general, we are moving towards the metaverses. We see it a little differently. We have now started with NFT, with the protection of copyright content, with the monetization of copyright content, and we believe that the time has come for NFT, and VKontakte should become the main service provider with access to NFT in Russia and the CIS countries. We would like to be some kind of marketplace [for NFT] , which will allow you to choose between different blockchains,” Alexander Tobol told reporters.

The social network is also working on various scenarios that will help protect content, sell it and earn money, Tobol added. “Example scenario: You are great at drawing stickers. You drew cool stickers for the football team, the football team bought these stickers from you, and you get some kind of payment from the sale of these stickers to the fans of the football team. 10%yours, 40%ours, 50%the football team. Stickers are unique, there can be a limited number of them, a maximum of 1 thousand stickers, ” Tobol gave an example.

The marketplace will be ready to work with all blockchain platforms that will be ready to provide their interface so that the social network can place its NFT tokens on them for its content, Tobol added. “At the same time, if there are other restrictions, then we do not exclude the development of our blockchain in this direction,” Tobol emphasized, adding that the project will be launched “soon.”
