The Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine spoke about the priority areas of work on vaccination and the spread of infectious diseases.
While there is no unusual epidemiological situation in Ukraine, those outbreaks that are registered are quickly localized, but you need to be careful with food and in compliance with personal hygiene rules.
This was announced on May 24 by the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin on the air of the national telethon.
Now in Ukraine there is an active campaign for the vaccination of IPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine) for children under six years of age.
“Because the outbreak of polio is long and as of now, the implementation of the national plan, or national goals for vaccination with the IPV vaccine is about 42% and this work continues,” he said.
According to him, outbreaks of acute intestinal infections are observed in Ukraine, quite often in places of temporary displaced persons. Therefore, the second priority is their rapid localization.
Also, according to the chief sanitary doctor, there are cases of botulism in several regions of Ukraine.
“Such isolated cases occur in Kyiv, in the Kyiv region, Chernihiv region, and mainly this is a violation of the rules of cooking, or the purchase of food in unauthorized places, or in free markets,” he said.
Recall that cases of botulism have been recorded in Kiev.
