How the medical system works in Poland
Recall that two children evacuated from Kiev Okhmatdyt underwent heart and kidney transplantation in Lviv.
The first lungs in Ukraine were transplanted to 56-year-old Lviv resident Viktor. My husband had been ill with bullous emphysema for more than 10 years, three of which he practically did not leave the house, because he was oxygen dependent. Without a transplant, he would not have lived for several months, doctors say .
Liver transplantation was performed on 37-year-old Maria from Lviv, who had cirrhosis, kidneys were transplanted to 40-year-old Yuri from the Donetsk region and 45-year-old Vitaly from the Ternopil region.
The doctors also performed a corneal transplant. All this from one donor – a 54-year-old man who died of a hemorrhagic stroke. His condition was fatal, and his wife and two children agreed to organ harvesting.
Recall that all these organ transplants were carried out on the same day and in the same hospital.
