The royal Instagram account continues the countdown to the celebration of the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II’s blog now publishes “photo of the day” every day – these are frames from Her Majesty’s archive, marking her many years of rule over Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries. The photo shown today was taken in 1993.
“The Queen is pictured with the heads of Commonwealth governments in Cyprus.
During her reign, Her Majesty attended 22 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings.
In 1993 the Women’s Royal Naval Service was fully integrated into the Royal Navy and for the first time women were allowed to serve on board Navy ships as full crew members,” reads the caption under Her Majesty’s new picture.
Recall that we wrote earlier that the traditional photo of the monarch on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on the day of the celebration of the anniversary, to which Elizabeth II previously invited Megan and Harry, is under threat. All because of the mobility problems that the queen is currently experiencing.
