Following several months of rumors and leaks , the American publisher Electronic Arts has officially confirmed the imminent renaming of its series of football simulators FIFA – from 2023, the franchise games will be called EA Sports FC.
As promised , the severance of relations with FIFA will not affect the football licenses received by Electronic Arts from its other partners: more than 19 thousand athletes, over 700 teams, 100 stadiums and 30 leagues.
In addition, EA Sports FC will retain familiar FIFA game modes: Career, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs and Volta Football. Electronic Arts will share additional details about the future of its football series in the summer of 2023.
EA calls EA Sports FC a symbol of change (in the future) and a new independent platform that will provide the company with opportunities to innovate, create and grow.
However, before the end of the agreement with FIFA (expires in December), the publisher intends to release FIFA 23 – by all means the best and most extensive game in the series that has ever existed.
The company is committed to ensuring that the next FIFA can offer users “more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions and players than any previous FIFA.”
“We exist to create the future of the world of football – virtual or real, digital or physical, all this is football. Thank you for your continued support ,” thanked the fans of Electronic Arts in the end.
