I didn’t think that I would start repeating myself, but I can’t help but share – I can’t, because now it’s not so common to find very decent mechanical watches within 15 thousand rubles.

Therefore, I propose to take a look at the Orient AC0E06E1 model

In general, strictly speaking, Orient is good in their designs. These are almost always European watches, where watchmaking traditions are skillfully reflected in the form of noticeable, but not annoying, homages. In the budget segment, such watches are innumerable. You will always find references to Rolex, IWC, and there is no need to talk about Breguet hands at all.

Of course, if it were my will and someone’s money, I would take them all and love them. But, roughly speaking, it’s all “Switzerland”. I was much more interested in how Orient would make “German Watches”, and in the Maestro series we have an almost reference Bauhaus style, which Japanese designers have coped with incredibly.

The budget segment does not involve expensive packaging. Here it is similar to watches from the 3 star series .

The clock inside is not hidden from you. Open the lid and you’re done. A few films on the bracelet, one on the back cover. Minimalism meets in all its glory.

What is the difficulty

In fact, to make “empty” watches, minimalist, you need an extraordinary talent. Otherwise, it will look cheap, bland and boring. Orient coped well with the task: the watch clearly enriches the marks, which are applied here, as well as the dial itself, because the beautiful emerald color is matte.

All this looks voluminous, plays in the light, of course. In general, it does not look stingy, but restrained and dignified. It’s hard for me to catch the “haze” in the photo, so I recommend taking a look at it in the video. I still shoot the old fashioned way:

In other words, I would say that Orient coped with the task that it set for itself. I think it sounded something like this: “Make a stylish watch in a minimalist way.”

A bracelet

The case of this watch is made of steel, and in this version it is suspended from a steel Milanese bracelet. This is a winning strategy for watches in general and also for this style.

It does not look rough, it is rather monotonous, which is correct. It is regulated by a tight latch, so the watch in terms of girth is completely universal.

Its only problem: it is not cast, but completely openable. Again, this cannot be conveyed in the photo, but it is in the video. The bottom line is that when you turn your wrist towards you to take off your watch. And usually this is exactly what happens, you – logically – turn the body down to the floor. The second latch of the bracelet is not as tenacious as we would like, and the watch under weight (which is about 100 grams) can simply collapse down.

But there is no need to panic in advance. Here they “took care” about this too: the glass is mineral, not sapphire.

Caliber F6722

Before us is one of the most budgetary mechanical versions of Orient watches. What is remarkable: in the current conditions, they are not so much superior to some models of 3 stars, but the caliber here is more modern.

It is endowed with a stop second, as well as the possibility of manual winding, which is not in 3 stars. Of course, this is still an automatic watch with a 40-hour reserve. The caliber can be viewed through the transparent cover of the watch, by the way, screwed.

Another interesting advantage is connected with it: this is a watch with an insulation of 100 meters, that is, really as an everyday, city watch – perhaps the best offer for 12,610 rubles (at the time of publication) .

Chassis Features You Might Not Like

We have already noted that this watch is almost perfect, if not for small nuances in the form of a latch and mineral glass. However, some people (for example, me) may not seem very successful and dimensions. If the diameter here is very comfortable, about 39 mm, then the thickness of the case, which actually consists of three parts, is already impressive: with glass – about 12 mm.

Undoubtedly, this model should not be thin and sophisticated even visually. She has a different style, in which the watch fits inside and out. But for me it’s too big. I definitely can’t sleep in them. However, at night, the clock is useless, because they do not have any backlight.

Features of the bracelet that you may not like

Of course, Orient watches cannot be over-praised: in terms of quality and price, everything is very decent, and this is evident. We have already listed a number of positive features: mechanics, water resistance, a pretty decent bracelet, and great design.

Yes, in some places there are shortcomings, quite forgivable. However, I would return to the bracelet for a moment. The clasp itself, on which the logo is applied, is very scratchy.

In fact, right out of the box, it leaves traces of use, and you can literally scratch the surface with your fingernail.

And it doesn’t look good, to be honest.

Small Conclusions

In short, I knew what I was buying, I knew why. Before that, I watched some good videos that managed to correctly show and emphasize the features of the dial, so there was no surprise: excellent watch.

• This series exists both on the bracelet and on the skin. And with different shades of the dial. I watched everything, chose – an emerald: it looks very impressive and expensive.
• Steel, glass on both sides. Building 39/12. Thick but comfortable in size.
• Of all the budget watches that can be put next to each other in terms of price and caliber, this one has the highest water resistance.
• Movement: hand-wound automatic, stop second. For this price again – very, very much.
