Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to strengthen information security in the country. It is proposed to do this through the introduction of a new state system in the relevant area.
“ I consider it expedient to consider the issue of creating a state information security system … Coordination of the actions of all structures for ensuring the information security of critical facilities should be fixed at a strategic level ,” Kommersant newspaper quotes Putin as saying.
It is assumed that the new initiative will help counter cyber attacks, the intensity of which is growing. It is noted that in the current situation, the challenges in this area have become even more acute, serious and large-scale.
Vladimir Putin also recalled that the Russian leadership had already adopted one of the measures of information protection, which provides for a ban on “the use of foreign means of information protection. ” This measure will come into force in 2025.
