More than three years ago, Google stopped publishing reports revealing the extent to which different versions of Android are being adopted globally. Fortunately, an alternative source was found – the Android Studio development environment, which notifies application developers about the latest versions of the green robot every six months (albeit with the exception of the latest version). Almost 2 years after its launch, Android 11 still managed to outperform Android 10 with a 28.3% share vs. 23.9%, according to new data.
But the Android 9 (Pie) segment has not declined much since the last report : from 18.2% to 16.2%. The shares of older versions of Android are also gradually decreasing, but there is no need to talk about the rapid pace of market renewal. Regarding the position of Android 12, which will turn a year in 4 months, we can only guess.
