Developer Luca Galante, alias poncle, has released an update to his successful action roguelite Vampire Survivors. The patch added new content, including a bonus level, new mechanics and weapons.

In the Steam Community , the developer did not list all the innovations and changes in the patch. More details about the new content were told by Reddit users (the post contains spoilers).

Update 0.6.1 added the following content:

• moonglow bonus level;
• a new relic that unlocks two secondary gameplay mechanics;
• two new arcana;
• additional rank to enhance the Skip parameter;
• a merchant from whom you can get items and upgrades for gold;
• two new types of weapons;
• three new characters, including one secret.

Other changes:

• Reduced the duration of the Shadow Pinion and Valkyrie Turner weapons by half, and their strike attack now has a bonus depending on how long it was charged;
• Arcana XIX – Heart of Fire now affects the hit attack of Valkyrie Turner and Phiera Der Tuphello;
• Each additional point invested in armor now increases Retaliation Damage by 10% (Retaliation Damage now applies to NO FUTURE and Arcana XIX)
• reroll (transfer) for lasso;
• the ability to pre-evaluate music and music mods on the map selection screen.

According to the author, he had to release a patch with less content due to the large amount of work associated with fixing problems with saves on macOS and on the Steam Cloud, as well as update 0.7.

“Sorry for the inconvenience and hope you enjoy the little new mechanics from the latest patch, ” Galante wrote. – One of them is created primarily for those who continue to enjoy the game, even when everything is already unlocked. Don’t feel like you have to do repetitive activities to get these new bonuses. It is optional to use them – all future content, unlockable features and achievements are focused on base characteristics and power-ups (except Curse).”

In Vampire Survivors, users must survive half-hour rounds while fending off endless waves of opponents – bats, ghosts, skeletons and other monsters. Roguelite features minimalistic gameplay: attacks are automatic, and the player only has to move around the screen and select skills and upgrades.

Vampire Survivors was released in Early Access on PC ( Steam and Microsoft Store ) on December 17, 2021, and appeared in Game Pass in May. For all the time, the game has collected more than 94 thousand reviews on the site, on the basis of which it has a rating of 98%. Buyers call it very addictive and praise the developer for actively supporting the project.

The final release should take place in late 2022 – early 2023.
