Despite the war, damage by the enemy to the flight base in Gostomel and some aircraft, ANTONOV Airlines The air transport division of the state enterprise ANTONOV continues to operate and serves commercial flights using its fleet of five An-124-100 Ruslan aircraft. For example, a Ukrainian airline recently fulfilled an order of the German company Chapman Freeborn — it carried out three flights by An-124-100 aircraft to deliver a new mobile generator of a gas-fired power plant and its equipment from Lubljana (Slovenia) to Kano (Nigeria). This was reported on the official Facebook page of the GP.
The total weight of the delivered cargo, including the generator, turbine, equipment, amounted to about 200 tons. The layout of the transportation project lasted almost a year.
“The entire ANTONOV team, commercial and operations, route planning and loading planning, worked closely with our client and agents to ensure the safe delivery of this important cargo that will provide energy needs in Nigeria.
Our professional flight crews and technical staff have ensured the smooth operation of flights, and the cargo, delivered safely and on time, is ready for the appropriate use.”

specialist of the commercial department of ATP SE “ANTONOV”
Aircraft of the Antonov air fleet continue to operate flights around the world, giving priority to flights commissioned by the Ukrainian government, strategic air transportation under the NATO SALIS program and humanitarian missions. The company also serves commercial flights. In 2022, the Antonov Airlines fleet plans to operate 385 flights.
At present, Antonov’s aircraft are temporarily based at Leipzig Airport, Germany. Services responsible for planning transportation and aircraft maintenance were also temporarily moved there. This allowed DP to continue fulfilling commercial and government orders for the transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo, as well as maintain its leadership position in this niche of the world market.
After defeating the Russian invaders and carrying out a set of works to restore the Kyiv-Antonov-2 airport, it will again become the base for the Ruslan fleet of Antonov Airlines.
