Sport briefing: Wolff fears Hamilton couldn quit F1
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has admitted he does not know whether Lewis Hamilton will continue in Formula 1, saying he hopes the 36-year-old will rediscover his passion for the sport after the way in which he was “robbed” of an eighth world title in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. In an explosive press conference today, after Mercedes confirmed they were dropping their appeal against the result of that race now that the FIA has agreed to launch an investigation into what happened, Wolff said the Brackley team could “not continue in a sport that is meant to be sport followed by entertainment and not the other way around”. Business briefing: Khan’s efforts to save the West End
The congestion charge will end at 6pm on weekdays as Sadiq Khan tries to woo shoppers and theatregoers into the West End this festive season. Drivers will only be charged between noon and 6pm on weekends and the levy will be waived completely between Christmas Day and Jan 3. Instead of just firing general knowledge questions at the four contestants, Carr quizzes them on what others in the studio have just said: he has got two writers penning questions on set, one of whom is The Sky at Night’s space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, randomly.
