Under wraps in every sense, chef Brett Graham’s two-Michelin-starred Notting Hill restaurant closed in June 2020, with the chef saying that he could not reopen with social distancing in place. Now the dining room has been gutted and is currently undergoing a full revamp (inside and out). Expect a very different restaurant with an entirely new kitchen team and Graham more in the role of owner than chef and determined, we’re told, to make everything bigger and better – with a third Michelin star presumably part of that ambition. There’s no re-opening date as yet but safe to say this will be worth waiting for.

London’s appetite for Japanese food shows no sign of waning, and the offerings are becoming more exclusive than ever.
Roji
Restaurants with space for fewer than five diners are not unknown on the ultra-rarefied Tokyo restaurant scene and while Roji will not be quite so intimate, this counter for 10 promises to offer customers the opportunity to get up close and personal with chefs Tamas Naszai and Tomoko Hasegawa when it opens in Mayfair at the end of January. The first solo project for the husband-and-wife team will serve a £150 pre-paid menu of hyper-seasonal British produce presented on tableware from artisanal crockery workshops.
