Britain announced the abolition of all duties and quotas on the import of Ukrainian goods. This will save thousands of jobs during the war and ensure a significant intensification of economic relations with the UK.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the UK, and especially Boris Johnson, for the quick and positive response to the trade liberalization request. Right now it is especially important to support the state.
On Tuesday, April 26, the head of state spoke about this in his video message.
“Britain has announced the abolition of all duties and quotas on the import of Ukrainian goods without exception. This will allow us to save thousands of jobs in the conditions of war and ensure a significant intensification of economic relations with Britain. We expect similar decisions from other partners,” Zelensky said.
According to the President, this is important not only for Ukraine, not only for each of the partner countries. This gives stability to global markets, especially the food market, which, due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, is on the verge of a large-scale price crisis.
“We can avoid the crisis in only one way – to strengthen joint cooperation and put pressure on Russia to give up this war,” the president summed up.
