Now for the gentle reminder of quite how damaging denim is to the environment. A single pair of jeans can use as much as 10,000 litres of water in its production process. Where possible, look for repurposed denim. ELV Denim is one of the best options out there: the label takes vintage jeans destined for landfill and turns them into sharp, sophisticated pieces that fit brilliantly.
Anna Foster is the founder and creative director. As a stylist, she understands how we want our jeans to fit, our denim dresses to hang and our jackets to move. Notice the two-tone effect running down the front of the jeans here. It’s a brilliantly flattering, elongating ‘trompe l’oeil’ way of handling denim. Garments are made at Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, a hub of transformation in east London. As a consumer, you can’t shop from a better kind of brand.
