The Western world has watched Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in horror, as images of fighting, destruction and apparent war crimes surface.
But for those in Russia, the story has been told in an entirely different way. Russian TV channels are not allowed to report independently on the conflict, and are obliged to toe the Kremlin’s line.
The result of this media stranglehold is an information echo-chamber, where news channels go to extreme lengths to support Putin’s regime.
