What is the latest news?
England women will not be offered a squad bonus if they win a third consecutive Six Nations Grand Slam.
The RFU has routinely handed out player bonuses to England men for Grand Slam successes in the past, but Telegraph Sport understands no such discussions appear to be on the table for its dominant Red Roses side ahead of this year’s women’s championship, which gets underway at the weekend.
Tournament favourites England are on an 18-match winning streak and if they beat Scotland in their opening game in Edinburgh on Saturday, will overtake the England men’s record for the number of consecutive Test matches won.

What happened in last year’s tournament?
Due to the pandemic, last year’s Six Nations took on an alternative format with two pools of three before a final round of games between first, second and third in each group.
England and France both convincingly won their pools and it was the Red Roses who took the title after edging past France 10-6. Ireland beat Italy in the third place showdown while Scotland defeated Wales to avoid coming last.
