The Ukrainian president warned that the Russians would pay in poverty for the aggressive policies of their state leaders.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that further aggression by the Russian Federation would lead to even greater impoverishment of Russians. He also noted that Ukrainian collaborators who agreed to cooperate with the occupation regime would be punished.
He spoke about this in his traditional address on the evening of Tuesday, April 26.
Zelensky recalled that over the current day, Russian troops launched missile strikes in the Odessa region, continued to attack the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kharkov and in the Donbass, and they are trying to establish “new power” in the occupied territories. “They are changing flags, demonstrating some suicides as collaborators,” the president said.
According to the Ukrainian leader, further aggression only leads to losses for Russia.
“There will be a new sanctions package from the European Union. There will be even more restrictions on trade. The absolute majority of countries in the world will inevitably give up Russian oil and other Russian energy resources. No adequate country would want to invite Rosatom to cooperate. Most Russians will have to pay with poverty for the aggressive policy of their leadership state,” Zelensky predicted.
The President also promised that every war criminal and collaborator will be identified, found and held accountable.
“The longer and tougher this war is, the more resources will be spent not only by us, but also by the world to establish justice and punish all those responsible. The time will come when Russia will have to admit that peace is needed,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
Recall that the former Russian banker and ex-friend of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, Sergei Pugachev, predicted how events could develop further due to the full-scale attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine.
