Today, two former Ukrainian officers were tried in the capital, who in 2014 did not leave the occupied Crimea with their military units, but swore allegiance to Russia, according to TSN .
This year, already as part of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, they moved to mainland Ukraine in order to fight against their fellow countrymen. But the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took them prisoner.
So, the major received a sentence of 14 years in prison. The case of another arrested officer – the captain – will continue to be considered tomorrow.
“The court passed a sentence on the specified serviceman, sentenced under 2 articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – 408 – desertion – 4 years in prison and 114 – high treason – a sentence of 14 years was imposed, the total punishment is 14 years in prison,” the court noted.
