The crimes took place in March in the village of Bogdanovka near Kyiv.
The captain and major of the armed forces of the Russian Federation were informed of suspicion due to the ill-treatment of a prisoner of war and a clergyman from the village of Bogdanovka in the Kiev region .
This was reported by the press service of the Kiev Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Brovarsky district prosecutor’s office of the Kyiv region, a suspicion was reported in absentia to the captain and major of the motorized rifle company of the 15th” peacekeeping “brigade of the 2nd guards combined arms army of the Central Military District of the RF Armed Forces in ill-treatment of prisoners of war and the civilian population (part 1 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message reads.
According to the investigation, in March 2022, while in the village of Bogdanovka, Brovary district, the captain ordered his subordinates to search the village for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, representatives of law enforcement agencies, territorial defense, and former participants in the ATO. In the future, it was necessary to take the latter prisoners and, by ill-treatment with them, obtain operational information about the defense forces in the region.
In pursuance of the criminal orders of the captain, the invaders captured a fighter of the territorial defense of the village. The man was handcuffed and placed in the basement. The major interrogated the prisoner, applying physical force to him, intimidated and humiliated him.
When the man was on his knees with his hands cuffed behind his back, the major struck with the butt of his machine gun on the back, arms and legs. He stepped on his limbs and threatened to use weapons. After being tortured, the man was left in the basement without food and with minimal water for several days.
Later, he was led to the central square of the village of Bogdanovka, from where the civilian population, including family members of the prisoner of war, was being evacuated at that time. In the presence of civilians, the captain of the “peacekeeping” brigade beat the unarmed victim, put a pistol to his head and fired into the air.
In addition, the major inflicted bodily injuries on the rector of the church in Bogdanovka. On his orders, the clergyman took off all his clothes, after which the suspect put a hat on his head so that it covered his eyes, tied his hands behind his back with a molding tape and illegally interrogated him.
The pre-trial investigation continues.
Recall that in Kiev they detained and reported on suspicion to one of the ex-heads of the “LPR police” and a fighter of the “LPR” armed formation – “NVB” Zarya “. The essence of the suspicion is an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and participation in the activities of an armed formations”.
