Among the tortured is 29-year-old military officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Balai. After the Russian invasion, he went to Borodyanka to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

What happened to Victor next is unknown. But recently his body and two other men were found in Zdvizhivka. Bodies were twisted, hands were tied, and teeth were knocked out.

Viktor’s grandmother lives in Borodyanka. She says that during the occupation, the Russians placed three units of military equipment in her yard, stole all the things and food supplies from her house. The occupiers wanted to settle two women with her. The old woman replied that she did not have enough space, and suggested a cottage opposite. But she was told: there is command. Although on the fence of that house there was an inscription “People”.

The pensioner no longer remembers the women, but it is quite possible that it was their corpses that were later buried by the local priest. The bodies were wrapped in yellow and blue cloth.
