The self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is strengthening its army. They announced military training, which will last 90 days.
The so-called Ministry of Defense of the PMR wrote a letter to the heads of local administrations, which refers to the call of citizens for “special fees to ensure employment.”
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It is noted that the purpose of the meeting is “ensuring 100% staffing of the personnel of the Peacekeeping contingent of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, as well as providing employment for the able-bodied population of the republic.”
Men up to 55 years of age can participate in the meeting, who are allegedly guaranteed monetary and material allowance, accommodation and food. Financial support for unemployed citizens is promised from 2800 “Transnistrian rubles”. The meetings themselves will last 90 days from June 1.
Despite the formal voluntariness of participation in the meeting, there is information that the conscription will be forced, Ukrainian intelligence officers say.
“It is noteworthy that the letter is dated April 21. That is, before the start of the latest Russian provocations on the territory of the PMR. This is reminiscent of the events in the so-called LPR/DPR,” Ukrainian intelligence noted.
Recall, on April 26, Arestovich said that because of Russia’s provocations in the unrecognized Transnistria, Moldova could be in big trouble. Therefore, the state should turn to Romania and Ukraine for help. And Ukraine, according to the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, will “manage” to take Tiraspol under control. In turn, the Moldovan authorities stated that they intended to resolve the problem of Transnistria only by political and peaceful means . Meanwhile, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that the country does not have a combat-ready army.
