Igor Kolykhaev is sure that the Russian invaders are not planning to hold a “referendum”.
In the temporarily occupied Kherson , the invaders are not yet going to hold a pseudo-referendum. Previously, they announced that the referendum would take place before May 10, but then their plans changed.
This was announced by the mayor of the temporarily occupied Kherson, Igor Kolykhaev, in an interview with Novoye Vremya.
“The commandant of the region and the commandant of the city have been appointed. They appointed a new chairman of the regional state administration – Saldo Vladimir Vasilyevich, and a new mayor – Kobts Alexander Yuryevich. Regarding the “referendum”. I don’t have exact information. I communicate with the inhabitants of our city and see that there are no signs that there will be a “referendum”. When they will plan it is hard to say now. What I see is that there will be no “referendum”. I think that they are most likely planning to annex the region to the Crimea. It makes no sense to make another quasi-republic. There is no preparation for a “referendum,” he said about the situation in the city.
Recall that on April 25, Russian invaders seized the premises of the Kherson City Council and removed the flag of Ukraine . The head of the regional military administration, Gennady Laguta, said that this was expected, and none of the authorities would accept either the tricolor of the Russian Federation or the Soviet flag.
The Russian occupiers and local collaborators cooperating with them at a special meeting, after the seizure of the premises of the Kherson City Council, introduced the so-called “heads” of the Kherson regional and city administrations Vladimir Saldo and Alexander Kobets.
Kherson city council has been working remotely since April 26, and more than 40% of the population has already left the city.
In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, Russian troops are preparing for the so-called “referendum” . The occupiers print bulletins and clarify the personal data of local residents. At the same time, they do not allow Ukrainians to travel outside the territory they have occupied.
