The UN coordinator in Ukraine, Osnat Lubrani, said she was traveling to Zaporozhye to coordinate the rescue of people from Mariupol.
She noted that this decision was made by UN Secretary General António Guterres.
She wrote about it on Twitter.
“I am traveling to Zaporozhye to prepare for a hopeful evacuation from Mariupol. The UN is fully mobilized to help save Ukrainian lives and help those in need,” wrote Osnat Lubrani.
The SG @antonioguterres was in Ukraine before the President Zelensky meeting. With his persuasion, I will go to Zaporizhia to prepare for a hot evacuation from Mariupol.
