Ukrainian gymnast Maxim Vasilenko got into a loud scandal because of his post on Instagram.
The 2016 Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Oleg Vernyaev, who defended Ukraine from the invaders , exposed his former partner from the Ukrainian national team Maxim Vasilenko in a pro-Russian position.
The 23-year-old Ukrainian gymnast from Kherson, who until 2020 played for the national team of Ukraine in international tournaments, turned out to be a fan of the “Russian world”.
Maxim Vasilenko published a scandalous post on his Instagram story, writing: “God save Kherson from Ukrainian missiles.”
Vernyaev reacted indignantly to the statement of his colleague. The Olympic champion took a screenshot of Vasilenko’s story and shared it with his Instagram followers.
“This is how a person who played for the Ukrainian national team writes on his social networks. Let me be bad, but the country should know its “heroes” by sight,” Vernyaev wrote.
Note that Vasilenko has already deleted the message from his Instagram, but he will definitely not be able to avoid the shame for supporting the Russian occupiers.
Earlier it was reported that 14-year-old Ukrainian athlete Alina Peregudova died in Mariupol.
