The Netherlands has reopened its embassy in Kyiv.
In anticipation of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the diplomatic mission moved to Lviv.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra, writes NOS .
“Today the Dutch embassy will open in Kyiv,” Foreign Minister Hoekstra said ahead of the weekly meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He also added that the presence of diplomats in the Ukrainian capital is important, since the states closely cooperate in the field of humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine. Wopke Hoekstra added that, despite the risks from the Russian Federation, the Netherlands considers this decision to be the right one.
Recall that the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine may resume its work within a few days or weeks after officials closed it earlier this year in connection with Russia’s invasion of sovereign democracy.
