President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that negotiations with the Russian side, including with Russian President Vladimir Putin, could stop if the aggressor state continues its atrocities.
Russian invaders in the war against Ukraine leave behind the same atrocities in different territories.
Zelensky spoke about this in an interview with the Polish media.
“Only direct negotiations (with Putin – ed.) and direct agreements on something will be fulfilled. This is my understanding of this process. But the risks that they will completely close – any conversations, they are very high. It is because of the consequences that the Russian Federation leaves behind,” the Ukrainian president said.
He noted that the Russian military commit the same atrocities in different territories of Ukraine.
“It seems that they have a manual on murder and they act in the same way in certain territories that we de-occupy. The same processes, the same formats of torture, the same consequences,” Zelensky said.
Recall, adviser to the head of the President’s Office Mikhail Podolyak said that Zelensky’s negotiations with Putin would take place when legal positions were ready.
