Ukrainian judokas won the first award at the continental championship. Bogdan Yadov became the owner of the gold medal.
The Ukrainian national judo team won the first award at the European Championship 2022 , which takes place in Sofia (Bulgaria).
According to Suspіlne Sport , Bogdan Yadov became the champion in the weight category up to 66 kg.
On the way to the final, the Ukrainian defeated Italian Mattia Miceli, Turkish representative Eidar Toktay, Israeli Baruch Shmakhlov and Azerbaijani Yashar Najafov. And in the “golden” fight, Bogdan defeated the Spaniard Alberto Gaitero by ippon.
Yadov is the sixth European judo champion in the history of independent Ukraine. The last time the “gold” of the continental championship in men’s judo was won by George Zantaraya in 2019.
Earlier it was reported that the youth hockey team of Ukraine (U-18) won the third victory in a row at the World Championship .
