The National Bank of Ukraine reported that on April 28 they learned from foreign partners that when crossing the border to Poland, it is again necessary to have a Green Card insurance policy.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the war, Ukrainians had the right to cross the borders of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova with their own cars without a Green Card policy.
This is discussed in the message of the NBU on April 29.
“On April 28, 2022, the National Bank received information from foreign partners that when crossing the border with Poland, it is again necessary to have a Green Card policy. This practice, obviously, will be extended to borders with other countries. Therefore, the NBU recommends that Ukrainian citizens, who travel abroad in their own car, purchase this insurance policy,” the National Bank said.
They also informed that today it is possible to conclude an international insurance agreement “Green Card” with a 50% discount from Ukrainian insurers . The cost of the policy depends on the type of transport, the country of visit and the duration of the insurance contract. Policies are issued for a minimum period of 15 days , maximum – no more than a year.
The process of issuing a “Green Card” has been significantly simplified due to martial law. You can apply for a policy online by generating the corresponding pdf-files (electronic policy). Member countries of the “Green Card” system recognize Ukrainian electronic policies, they do not need to be printed out and can be presented from any gadget.
Recall that 39 thousand people left Ukraine during the day on April 28 .
