The Biathlon Federation of Ukraine has decided on the composition of the “A” team, which will prepare for the 2022/23 season.
Less than a month is left before the start of biathlon training for the 2022/23 season. The Ukrainian national team has published a list of biathletes and biathletes who will train as part of the “A” team
Note that this list did not include the eminent Semerenko sisters – neither Vita nor Valentina. Also outside the list were naturalized Russians, who were expelled from the Ukrainian national team .
Team “A” will include 12 biathletes (six each for men and women), the names of 11 of which are already known. The last member of the men’s team will be chosen later. Most likely, they will be Denis Nasyko or Artem Tishchenko.
Team A line-up for the 2022/23 season
- Women: Julia Jima, Elena Bilosyuk, Daria Blashko, Irina Petrenko, Anastasia Merkushina, Yulia Zhuravok
- Men: Dmitry Pidruchny, Anton Dudchenko, Bogdan Tsymbal, Artem Prima, Taras Lesyuk
There have also been changes in the blue-yellow coaching staff. The coach of the Ukrainian women’s team Urosh Velepets led the German team. But Juraj Sanitra will continue to work with the men’s team of Ukraine. It is expected that the appointment of the head coach of the women’s team will take place next week.
Regarding the composition of the athletes of the “B” team, it will be determined later. Let us recall that earlier the State Biathlon Coach of Ukraine Yevgeny Kolupaev reported that the start of preparations for the new season is scheduled for May 20-25.
