Angelina Jolie has been the UN Refugee Ambassador since 2001. So, the celebrity made trips to meet with refugees in Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, Cambodia, Pakistan, Namibia and Thailand.

At the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, Angelina was one of the first to support the Ukrainians. The star urged to help people forced to flee the country. She also, together with colleagues from the UN, began to organize assistance.

On March 30, Jolie visited the Pediatrico Bambino Gesu hospital in Rome, where there were refugee children from Ukraine.

Exactly a month later, on April 30, the actress arrived in Lviv .

First, a celebrity was caught in one of the cafes in the city. In the video, which quickly went viral, Jolie is seen wearing a gray sweater and pants, with a backpack on her back. The artist smiles and orders coffee.

Then the UN Ambassador for Refugees visited the Lviv railway station. There, the actress met the passengers of the evacuation train from Pokrovsk and talked to them personally. The star listened to the stories of the evacuees, who said that because of the terrorist actions of Russia, they lost everything.

Ukrainian songs were played in the street. In particular, the hit of the group “VV” – “Spring”.

In addition, Jolie visited the station volunteers, psychologists and doctors. The star thanked them.

“You give a lot to help people with their emotions. It is very traumatic for children. But knowing that there is someone who cares and who is ready to listen shows these children that their lives matter,” shared star.

The star also visited children in the hospital who suffered from a missile attack by the Russian military on the station in Kramatorsk. As the head of the Lviv regional military administration Maxim Kozitsky shared, Angelina was very touched by their stories.

On this day, the ambassador also visited the boarding school, where she talked and took pictures with the pupils.

For his part, the former People’s Deputy and journalist Sergei Leshchenko said that he was personally involved in organizing the arrival of Jolie in Lviv. He wrote about this in his Telegram, noting that this is a very unique journey.

“As a person who was directly involved in her arrival in Ukraine, I can call this trip unique. I apologize for not giving details,” he commented.
