Employees of the port of Amsterdam do not want to unload a tanker with Russian diesel fuel.
Last night, the ship anchored off the coast of the Netherlands and intended to call at the port of Amsterdam, but the port officials refuse to unload it.
This is reported by the publication NOS .
“Port workers refuse to unload the tanker, and the municipality of Amsterdam supports the port workers,” the statement said.
It is noted that legally the tanker called “Sunny Liger” has the right to enter the port, because it sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands and is not subject to sanctions relating to Russian ships and vessels.
The press secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko also asks the workers of the Amsterdam port not to unload the ship.
“Oil tanker Sunny Liger with Russian oil entered the port of Amsterdam. We call on the Dutch government to demand the immediate departure of this vessel. The Netherlands, whose support Ukraine greatly appreciates, should not become a place for dirty Russian oil schemes,” he wrote on Twitter.
